2017 Upcoming NOWPBC Sponsored and Cosponsored Events and Actions

NOWPBC’s articulated core issues: Advancing Reproductive Rights, Ensuring Economic Opportunity, Achieving Equality with the Ratification of the ERA (Equal Right Amendment to the U.S. Constitution), Stopping Violence Against Women, Securing LGBTQI Rights, Promoting Diversity and Ending Racism, and Advocating for Justice in the Courts are based on two primary pillars. Women’s rights are Human rights. When women are equal, strong, and cared for, so are children and men. And the social, political, environmental, health, and economic spheres of our society are interconnected. NOWPBC subscribes to NOW National’s concept of ‘intersectionality.’

Most events are free and open to the public. Please bring family and friends.

Sunday, March 18, 2018 12:00 Susan B. Anthony Awards Luncheon

Recipient:  Palm Beach County Mayor Paulette Burdick

Speakers: Karen and Bill Amlong

Details to be announced shortly, but please note that the Sexual Harassment lawsuit initiated by NOW’s South Palm Beach County Chapter around 1992 was brought by two attorneys, Bill and Karen Amlong. (Karen was the first president of Florida NOW in 1973).  The Amlongs will be the speakers at our chapter’s annual Susan B. Anthony awards luncheon on March 18, 2018, the twenty year anniversary of this 1998 U.S. Supreme Court decision.  For details, go to Faragher-v-City-of-Boca-Raton
